Dry willow sculptures
These sculptures are weaved as a basket is made but seldom look any thing like one. On the whole these sculptures resemble the wild sculptures in their nature; they grow in their form as they are made. The difference being that these are made as indoor instillations mainly and will therefore not be deteriorated by the elements.
Live willow sculptures
These sculptures are planted during the dormant period of the year (November to February). Each one is individual and is specially designed in conjunction with clients requirements.
These make great childrens dens, meditation and ‘quiet’ spaces, screenings, artistic focus points and can also be created for a combination of purposes.
These structures will need to be pruned yearly. Some clients have preferred to ‘weave-in’ yearly growth. This will thicken the structure as each year passes and is often considered quite a relaxing task to undertake.
Wild sculptures
Don’t worry, these won’t bite!
These sculptures are created as a progressive natural installation. They can be created for a specific event such as a Food Festival or AGM or to promote an upcoming event. The materials used are more often than not gathered from the immediate surroundings of the piece. When the sculpture is completed, nature is then allowed to take its course in any future it may have. It is of course possible to demolish these sculptures if necessary; they are not designed as permanent structures, though some have developed a life of their own when left to their own devices!
